Wir haben uns gestern in einer gemütlichen Runde The Spirit angesehen (der aus unerfindlichen Gründen bei uns nie ins Kino gekommen ist). Die Story ist nicht übermäßig überwältigend, aber der Film hat gut unterhalten. Zum Teil waren schon sehr geniale Szenen dabei, ansonsten ist der Film zumindest visuell beeindruckend.

Als Film würde ich The Spirit nicht unbedingt empfehlen, aber als Comic-Verfilmung ist er durchaus brauchbar. Eine Rotten-Tomatoes Wertung von 14% spricht auch eher für den Film (zumindest wenn man bedenkt das ich einen durchaus achtbaren Teil der Worst-100 von Rotten Tomatoes als DVD besitze).

Abschließend kann ich den Film jetzt nicht unbedingt empfehlen, aber wenn man Comic-Verfilmungen wie Sin City oder 300 mag, dann sollte man den Film schon ansehen.

Ich finde besonders diese Mischung aus 50er(?)-Style (Autos, Kleidung, Flugzeuge) und Technik (Computer, Handys, Kampfhubschrauber) sehr interessant (was auch ein Grund ist, warum mir Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow gefallen hat), auf dieser Basis (und gerne auch in einem vergleichbaren visuellen Stil) könnten gerne zahlreiche weitere Filme erscheinen…
