TechChrunch arbeitet an einem billigen TabletPC -- wobei sie noch nicht sicher sind, ob das Ding überhaupt kommerziell vertrieben werden soll. Das ist also derzeit eher mehr ein Proof-Of-Concept. Der Prototype B gefällt mir jedoch schon sehr gut. Wenn das Ding jetzt noch einen vernünftigen Prozessor und ein UniBody-Gehäuse bekommt wär es genial -- bzw. das fehlende Apple Tablet. Ahja, und eine WebCam fehlt auch noch.
Wobei, zum Arbeiten wär das glaub ich eh nicht wirklich etwas, aber für die angedachte Verwendung muss es nicht mal von Apple sein:
It fits perfectly on your lap while you are sitting in front of the TV, so you can look up stuff on Wikipedia or IMDB as you channel surf. It plays Flash video flawlessly so you can watch movies and TV shows on Hulu or Joost or wherever. Or listen to music on MySpace Music. Or use TokBox to have a video chat with your parents. Und der angepeilte Preis von $200 bis $300 ist schon sehr verlockend, also ich denke falls das Ding wirklich am Markt kommen sollte ist es gekauft auch schon. Weil zum Nicht-Arbeiten sondern halt neben dem Fernschauen blöd Herumsurfen ist das Gerät glaub ich wirklich ideal (wobei ich vermute, dass man mit so einer Touch-Tastatur nicht wirklich flott tippen kann, aber vielleicht ist das auch nur eine Frage der Übung)…
